D6 between A6 and B7
D6 is the geometric mean of A6 (105 × 148 mm) and B7 (88 × 125 mm). Its sides are about 8 % shorter than those of A6, and its area is 84 % of A6. The step from D6 up to A6 is the same as the step from A6 up to C6.
Cutting D6 from A6
You cannot buy D6 paper ready-made. The easiest way is to trim an A6 sheet: 9 mm off the width and 12 mm off the height. A paper trimmer does it in two cuts.
Not a postcard
D6 does not qualify as a postcard. Deutsche Post and Royal Mail both require at least 140 × 90 mm, and D6 is 4 mm short on the long side. A D6 card travels without trouble in a C6 envelope, though.
